The Wagga All-Stars will present the first Jazz Junction Live on Sunday 12 February. The charity for February is Country Hope.

Charlie Down will be playing keyboard as well as leading the Wagga All-Stars. Charlie was originally classically trained in Sydney but jazz won him over.  For years, Charlie played in well-known venues in Sydney, including the Sydney Town Hall.  In Charlie's early days in Wagga Wagga, he was the longtime resident pianist at Wagga's Townhouse restaurant. For several years now, Charlie has been the leader of the very popular Dr Jazz at the Wagga Jazz Festival.

Joining Charlie on his electric piano this time:

  • David Saxon/Trombone/Vocals,
  • David Kennedy/ Soprano Sax/Clarinet/Vocals,
  • Peter Brown/Tenor Sax & Clarinet,
  • Graeme Callandar/Tuba
  • and Don Tuckwell/Drums

As usual, the venue is the Mirage Room at the RSL Club, Dobbs Street, Wagga Wagga and the time is from 3.00pm to 6.00pm.

Entry is $15 adult, $10 pensioner and student concession and a gold coin donation. Children 12 years and under are free.  The gold coin donation goes to the February  charity which is Country Hope.

Of course, Jazz Junction Live greatly appreciates the sponsorship of the RSL Club, the Riverina Conservatorium of Music, Quickprint and 2AAAFM 107.1.  Allison Music very generously sets up and donates the use of the sound system, when needed.
